 For eighty years, Walker Mortuary has been in the business of comforting people. The death of a beloved cat, Miranda, caused Steve Turner, owner of Walker Mortuary, to consider another option in his career. Steve and his wife, Catherine, had to travel nearly 200 miles in order to find a facility that would help them cremate their beloved pet in a respectful and caring way. Steve realized then that the care and understanding his staff had always given to the families who allowed Walker Mortuary to care for them needed to be available to families whose pets had died.
In the spring of 2007, Steve opened a state-of-the-art facility in Freeport, Illinois. This facility includes a cremator designed specifically for pets, a Viewing Room for people to be able to be with their pet before it is cremated, and a collection of tasteful memorial products to offer families.
Steve promises that Friends Ever After Pet Crematory will have the same reputation of Walker Mortuary and the same motto they have used for years, "We never stop helping."
